Data-Pop Alliance
Operations & Engagement Manager
New York
Data-Pop Alliance is a global coalition on Big Data and Development co-created by the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, MIT Media Lab, and the UK Overseas Development Institute, with fourth core member Flowminder Foundation, to promote a people-centered Big Data revolution by improving evidence-based decision-making and empowering people in the age of Big Data through research, training and advocacy.

As Data-Pop Alliance’s Operations and Engagement Manager, Natalie’s key responsibilities include managing partnerships; overseeing project design and delivery; conducting and coordinating thematic research on topics such as inequality and data literacy; and contributing to development and implementation of training workshops. Natalie is also Program Manager of the Open Algorithms (OPAL) project - a collaboration to design, develop and deploy an open algorithms platform and oversight process, which securely accesses private sector data for public good. In this role, she manages project planning and development, coordinates partnerships, and designs and facilitates governance and in-country workshops.

Prior to joining Data-Pop Alliance, Natalie most recently worked with a Big Data Analytics consultancy firm based in New York. She has spent a lot of time in Latin America, working with an education technology startup and a social enterprise for inclusive market research in Rio de Janeiro. After graduation, through a fellowship with Developing Minds Foundation, she worked with NGOs focusing on education in violence-affected and post-conflict communities in Brazil and Colombia. Natalie graduated with a BSE in Operations Research and Financial Engineering and certificates in Engineering and Management Systems and Latin American Studies from Princeton University.
