ICT Policy Specialist

Anat Lewin is an ICT Policy Specialist in the World Bank's Transport & ICT Global Practice. She manages investment lending and technical assistance projects in the areas of e-Government, ICT Policy, Open Data, ICT applications enabling other sectors, IT Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Cyber Security, and statistical capacity building. In the area of Open Data, she leads diagnostic and implementation activities to assist governments in opening non-sensitive datasets, so that businesses can create economic value with data-enhanced products and services, strengthen transparency and accountability, and improve data-informed policymaking. Anat is leading teams implementing the World Bank’s methodology for an ‘Open Data Readiness Assessment’ in the Caribbean (Antigua, St. Lucia and Jamaica) and Southern Africa (Botswana and Mauritius). Prior to joining the World Bank in 2000, Anat worked for the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in Ethiopia on ICT, Science and Technology policy. She holds a Master of International Affairs degree from Columbia University in New York with a focus on Middle East Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of Toronto in Canada, Trinity College. Anat studied Arabic at the University of Jordan in Amman and speaks English, French, German, Hebrew, and Arabic.
